毛筆的保養 How to active/use a new Chinese brush?

最近許多客戶常問, 新毛筆如何啟用?
有以下建議:可用溫水將筆浸泡至筆鋒全開.(注意:浸泡時間過長會把筆頭泡掉,筆毛也容易脫落.)然後,順筆鋒吸在宣紙上舐筆,吸掉多餘水份,恢復筆的圓狀.將筆吊掛十多分鐘,使筆毫韌性復原,即可開始調墨調色,寫字畫畫.

Recently many customers ask how to use (active) a new Chinese brush?
Suggest: Put the brush dip in slightly luke warm water till it fully opens. (Note: soaking too long, brush will not be good for use and its hair fall off easily.) Then, use rice paper to absorb water from brush, restore brush shape, leave it straight hanging around 10 minutes to let it recover toughness. You can start use ink color, paint and do calligraphy.
